German Chocolate Cake is anything but from Germany. Baker Samual German created a rich dark chocolate that was later used in a recipe by Mrs. George Clay. Submitted to a Dallas news paper in 1957, it was the featured recipe for the day...aptly named German's Chocolate Cake...and that is how the delicious dessert was born. This was a dessert that our head brewer Matt's mom made when he was growing up and he just had to take that inspiration into one of his favorite beer styles.
